The University of York is based in the historic city of York and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group, one of the 24 leading research universities in the UK. Established in 1963, York is a collegiate university and students belong to one of nine colleges who provide accommodation and academic departments. There are around 15,000 students currently enrolled.
A former winner of the University of the Year award from both Times Higher Education and the Sunday Times, York is also just one of six post-war universities to have appeared in the world’s top 100 universities. The University has also won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for research in Archaeology, Computer Science and Health Economics.
