New study reveals Abertay and Stirling as cheapest places to study in the UK
10 January 2017
A new study by price comparison site gocompare.com has revealed that Abertay and Stirling are two of the cheapest places to study in the UK, with degrees costing £15,880 and £16,030 respectively per year.
Tuition fees, housing, travel, socialising, books, food, clothes, gym and laundry costs were all factored in to the findings, with universities in the north of the UK dominating proceedings.
Academic reputation was not factored into the results, but top ten institutions Loughborough University and University of Warwick, ranked 4th and 9th in the Guardian University Guide 2017, both performed well in the findings, indicating the price of a degree does not necessarily equate to a better qualification.
