Graduate Immigration Route application date confirmed by UK Government

08 March 2021

The UK Government has confirmed that the new Graduate Immigration Route for international students will open for applications on July 1st 2021.

The new route will allow you to apply for a visa to remain in the UK for two years after your studies so you can look for work or start work at any skill level, or 3 years if you have completed a PhD.

The Graduate Route will be available to both undergraduate and postgraduate international students who have completed a degree with a track record of compliance, and who have a valid Tier 4 or student visa at the time of application.

The Graduate route will be unsponsored, meaning applicants will not need a job offer to apply for the route. There will be no minimum salary requirements nor caps on numbers. Graduates on the route will be able to work flexibly, switch jobs and develop their career as required.

Applicants who began their studies in Autumn 2020 will now have until 21 June 2021 to enter the UK (updated from 6 April 2021) in order to be eligible for the Graduate route. Students who began their studies in January or February 2021 will need to be in the UK by 27 September 2021.

If you want to study in the UK and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity for international students to remain in the UK for two years after your studies, arrange a free consultation with SI-UK London to begin your UCAS application today.
