Keele crowned most affordable student town in the UK

12 July 2017

A new study by credit card company Marbles.com on the costs attached to university life has revealed Keele University as the cheapest university town in the UK.

Keele, which also finished top of the 2016 ranking, has the cheapest student pint, as well as being very competitive in the areas of cinema and rent costs. Other winners included Dundee with the cheapest travel pass, Loughborough with the cheapest cinema ticket and Essex with the cheapest gym costs. Queen Mary was revealed to be the cheapest university in London.

In order to determine where each university would rank, Marbles.com provided a score for individual metrics and then awarded an overall score. Metrics included weekly rent, gym membership, cinema, taxis and meals.
