Oxford Maintains Research Excellence Framework Leadership

05 January 2015

The 2014 Research Excellence Framework results have been published and it is the University of Oxford who maintain their position at the summit of table.

After also topping the last exercise in 2008, Oxford will now take the largest share of the £2bn of government funding on offer following the news that almost half of the research produced by its 2,400 academic staff was given the top four-star rating by panels of judges and experts.

Among the biggest risers on the list, University College London moved up to 2nd place, Edinburgh into 4th and Kings College London into 7th.
