University College London performs strongly in first ever Knowledge Exchange Framework

01 April 2021

The results of the first-ever Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) were published this week, with University College London placing in the top 10% of all English universities.

Excelling in the areas of ‘Research Partnerships’, ‘Public and Community Engagement’ and ‘Intellectual Property and Commercialisation’, UCL's high positioning reflects the importance it places on working in close collaboration with external partners to solve the big challenges of our time.

Professor David Price, UCL Vice-Provost (Research), said: ““We work closely with a broad range of external partners including business, governments, communities and the NHS, to deliver significant change and impact for society and the economy on a local, national and global level. It’s excellent to see this hard work recognised with sector leading performances in areas such as research partnerships, public and community engagement and intellectual property and commercialisation.”

University College London is a global leader in UK higher education, ranking 10th in the world following the 2021 QS World University Rankings, as well being the top university in the UK for research strength in the most recent Research Excellence Framework.
