University of Highlands and Islands announces 26 all inclusive PhD scholarships

10 May 2017

The University of the Highlands and Islands is launching 26 PhD studentships for which both fees and living expenses will be paid.

The studentships begin in October and are available to international students as part of key EU funding for Scotland to drive innovation and address skills gaps. Funded subjects include those relevant to Scotland, including digital technologies in healthcare, the history of distilling and whisky production, eco-tourism, salmon farming and the impact of the nuclear industry on British communities.

UHI principal, Professor Clive Mulholland, said: “Since becoming a university in 2011, our reputation has been founded on our innovative approach to learning and our distinctive research and curriculum which are enriched by the people, natural environment, economy, culture and heritage of the Highlands and Islands and its communities.”
