Overview

Chichester College opened in 1964 and is spread across two campuses in West Sussex, south of London. It currently has about 15,000 students from 60 different countries. It offers a very wide range of subjects, including many vocational courses and includes facilities like a working commercial farm, training kitchens and restaurants, a real plane and a forge. As well as offering English language courses, it also teaches A-Level and foundation qualifications and higher education degrees. Chichester College also runs the University of Bath Foundation Year for students wishing to study at this prestigious university.

Results and Destinations

The college had excellent A-Level results in 2013 with a 99 per cent pass rate, with 24 subjects having a 100 per cent pass rate. 75 per cent of subject grades were A* to C, with 50 per cent A* to B. The Business Foundation Diploma has a 100% pass rate for 2011.

Services for International Students

The international department organises a full social programme for international students, which includes various events throughout the term and trips to places like Bath, Windsor and Oxford every weekend. Support is offered to students even before arrival, and continues throughout the year. Students are assigned a tutor at the beginning of their studies, who offers support and assessment during study.

Accommodation

There are a number of options for accommodation, with three main sites available, one of which is for 16-18 year olds. There are over 550 rooms available, many of which are en suite, and catering available at all three sites. A homestay option is also available to all students who wish to immerse themselves in English language and culture, and is available both catered and self-catered.

Location

Chichester has two campuses - one 1 km from the centre of the city, where most international students will stay, and another 33 km away in the beautiful countryside of the South Downs. Chichester is situated 130 km south of London, near the south coast of England. It has good transport links with the rest of the country by road, rail or sea. Although the impressive 11th Century cathedral is a major attraction, the Chichester also hosts two major motoring events as well as high-class shopping and entertainment.
