The Oscars took centre stage in the world of show business last weekend and one Bournemouth University graduate is celebrating a second Academy Award win.

Hannah Earnshaw, a PhD student at Durham University, has been named on a shortlist of 100 candidates who are in with a chance of becoming the first humans to travel to Mars.

In a move which is the first of its kind in the UK, the University of St Andrews will begin to offer alcohol free accommodation from this September.

Plymouth University was named the greenest university in the UK this week by the People and Planet Green League. It is the second time the university has topped the table in five years.
